
Hamilton Community Cinema
The Hamilton Community Cinema is a recently formed non-profit organization with the mission to connect people, enrich lives, and enhance the cultural and economic vitality of downtown Hamilton and the Bitterroot Valley through the transformative power of cinema. What began as a small group of community-minded individuals has grown to be a coalition of supporters with the common goal of bringing Cinema back to downtown Hamilton and restoring the Roxy. The non-profit is led by a board of non-profit professionals and business owners interested in our community thriving through the arts as well as an Advisory Committee made up of individuals who share the enthusiasm for opening and operating a non-profit movie theater in downtown Hamilton. Our board and Advisory Committee have experience in fundraising, non-profit management, operating community theaters, film making, community development and planning as well as finance.

Marisa Neyenhuis
President
Marisa Neyenhuis grew up in Hamilton and has fond memories of going to the Roxy Theater during her childhood. After living away from Montana for 20 years, she moved back in 2020 and became a co-owner of Chapter One Book Store. She lives in Hamilton with her husband and son. Marisa is excited to help bring a movie theater back to downtown.

Brooke Angst
Vice President
Brooke Angst is the Development and Marketing Director at SAFE in the Bitterroot. She is an effective communicator, collaborator and fundraiser with a proven track record in delivering fun and engaging development plans for non-profits serving her community. Brooke also has a background in education and child advocacy and strives to create spaces and experiences that promote resilience for children and families. She lives in Darby, MT with her husband, a location manager for Hollywood films.

Heather Mullee
Treasurer
Heather Mullee Barber is an accomplished leader with over 15 years of experience in community-driven initiatives and non-profit management. She has a proven track record in strategic leadership, operational excellence, and driving organizational growth. Throughout her career, Heather has been recognized for her ability to foster collaboration, build high-performing teams, and lead initiatives that deliver measurable results. Heather currently serves as the Executive Director of the Bitterroot Water Partnership in Hamilton, MT--the town that she and her family are also fortunate enough to call home.

Katrina Mendrey
Secretary
Katrina has spent her adult life providing outreach services to community projects from Superfund sites to agricultural research projects. She currently co-owns Chapter One Book Store, grafts historic apple trees as a side hustle and serves as a Hamilton Downtown Association board member. Her inspiration for bringing cinema back to Hamilton are her two movie and popcorn loving boys.

Amy Liss
Creative Coordinator
Amy (aka Mimi) moved to Hamilton in the summer of 2021 after falling in love with Montana on a road trip with her husband. She’s a graphic designer, illustrator and owner of Mimi’s Portico. A lifelong movie lover, Amy grew up watching films and geeking out over behind-the-scenes stories and soundtracks. Her current top 5 movies are 1917, Little Giants, Get Out, Back to the Future 2, and Heavyweights. She’s excited to bring her creative energy to the Hamilton Community Cinema board and help foster the growth of local art, food, and film in the area.
Our Advisory Committee
The Hamilton Community Cinema Advisory Committee provides additional expertise in many areas of theater, community development, finance, building preservation and the arts. Our Advisory Committee is made up of individuals who share the enthusiasm for opening and operating a non-profit movie theater in downtown Hamilton. Members provide guidance and expertise to the Board of Directors in making decisions for the organization. While the Advisory Committee does not have formal governance powers, they serve to expand the reach of Hamilton Community Cinema by providing knowledge and expertise in their respective fields.

Mike Steinberg
Mike Steinberg has 30+ years experience in filmmaking as a producer, writer-director, cinematographer and editor. He has worked with numerous film festivals as a programmer and consultant. His own films have earned placement in international film festivals including AFI/Discoveryʼs Silverdocs (now AFIDOCS), The Portland Film Festival, Gozo Film Festival, on the island of Malta, Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, Big Muddy Film Festival, and St Louis International.
For 12 years, Steinberg served as the Executive Director of the Roxy Theater in Missoula, MT, a non-profit community cinema that he led from a nearly shuttered neighborhood theater to the center of film culture in Missoula. For ten years prior to the Roxy, Steinberg was the director of Webster University Film Series, a renowned, year-round film series that showcases the best in foreign, experimental, classic and American independent cinema. He also directed and programmed Big Sky Documentary Film Festival from 2008-2012.

Matthew Rohrbach
Matthew Rohrbach is the Hamilton City Planner and understands the impact revitalizing community spaces can have on downtown businesses and the overall community alike. He brings his professional knowledge and skills as a grant writer and urban planner to our team advising on funding, building community through place-making and historic preservation. He looks forward to taking his family to the movies and watching old favorites alongside new films.

Mary Casper
Mary and her family fell in love with Hamilton the moment they stepped foot on Main St., and moved here after her husband retired from the Army. They now own City Center Motel in the heart of downtown. Mary is originally from Maryland and holds a degree in International Affairs and Spanish from James Madison University. After college, Mary joined Marriott International and managed front office operations at several large properties in Philadelphia and Washington DC. Her career then led her to global sales and marketing consulting where she guided leadership teams of Fortune 500 and FTSE businesses to strategically grow revenue. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Hamilton Downtown Foundation where she applies her unique skill set to building community support for projects that enhance our downtown and promote economic vitality through collaboration.

Cove Jasmin
Born and raised in Montana, Cove now resides in Hamilton on his family farm with his wife and daughter. With deep roots in the Bitterroot Valley, Cove is committed to building community and fostering more creative opportunities within the region. His long-standing involvement in the Montana music scene reflects his belief in the power of the arts to connect people. Cove brings over a decade of experience as a music educator in the state. He is also a professional musician, playing with traveling bands Shakewell and Shark Buffalo, and recording in his home studio. He's excited to bring his passion for community, creativity, and popcorn-munching to the Hamilton Community Cinema advisory board!

Larry McCloskey
After a career in the computer industry, Larry moved to Hamilton in 2017 to join family in enjoying all that Montana life offers. Since making his home in the Bitterroot Valley, Larry has been actively engaged with local non-profit organizations, especially promoting his passion for the performing arts in the valley. After helping to produce a number of concerts with the Bitterroot School of Music and developing events as a board member of the Bitterroot Celtic Society, Larry accepted the position of Executive Director of the Bitterroot Performing Arts Council in 2021. As Executive Director, Larry has led the BPAC’s growth into year-round performance programming and community outreach. He is thrilled with the prospect of bringing Cinema back to the Bitterroot and additional live performing arts space.

Jenn Adams
Jenn moved to western Montana in 1980. After graduating from the University of Montana, she pursued a 30-year career as an entrepreneur, traveling musician and singer songwriter. Jenn’s passion for music education grew while attending Berklee College of Music. After graduating in 2011, she quickly moved back to Western Montana where she currently owns Rooted Music in Hamilton and is a co-founder of the Bitterroot School of Music. Jenn believes music is the magic that changes lives and strengthens communities. She is excited to see the Roxy used for its intended purpose as a community theater and looks forward to both watching movies and hosting musical performances there.

Hannah Gimpel
Hannah is thrilled to be part of the Hamilton Community Cinema Advisory Group. She currently serves as the Director of Finance at the University of Montana's W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation and brings a wealth of experience in financial and operations management. With a strong background in various financial leadership roles, Hannah is passionate about supporting community initiatives. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring Montana’s great outdoors with her family.

Will Angst
Will Angst lives near Lake Como, north of Darby. He is married, with two dogs. He serves as a television and film Location Manager. His passions include water, The Texas Longhorns, collecting vinyl records, his friends and family and of course film. He has a dream of restoring the Roxy’s 35mm film projector to show vintage reels.

Naomi Gary
Naomi has lived in the Bitterroot Valley for more than 20 years. She is an active community member and volunteer, having served in various capacities for B.E.A.R., Bitter Root Land Trust, Hamilton Hiker’s Club and Rocky Mountain Laboratories Community Liaison group. TEDx Hieronymus Park was a lifetime highlight, serving as the Lead Organizer from 2018-2023. She and her husband, Robert and their two sons enjoy hiking, camping, skiing, fishing and hunting here in the valley. Robert owns and runs Latitudes Outfitting Company and Naomi has been a successful Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Montana Properties for the past 18 years. She was chosen as the 2020 Realtor of the Year by her peers at the Bitterroot Valley Board of Realtors. Naomi is looking forward to being a part of this dynamic group, working to bring cinema back to Hamilton!

Denise Rose
Denise Rose, who has not capitalized her name since the 7th grade, is a long-time resident of Hamilton. She is the Executive Director of Hamilton Players, the owner of Rose Grant Works and Consulting, and she has 15 years of experience in nonprofit management. She earned a professional certificate in Nonprofit Administration from the University of Montana, in 2018, followed by a Master's in Public Administration. She also has a bachelor's degree from Whitworth University in English literature and biology. She also earned her CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive) endorsement in 2023.
denise has worn many hats in her lifetime. She worked as a massage therapist, a line cook, a trail guide, a lab tech at the University of Washington - Department of Pharmaceutics in the Regional Primate Research Center, a lodge hostess/fish processor/deckhand in Alaska, and a caterer/event planner. In addition to her formal work history, she has volunteered with many nonprofits over the past 20+ years and in 2023, denise presented a TEDx address on re-imagining the nonprofit paradigm.

Amy Darling
Amy grew up in Montana, attended Williams College in Massachusetts, and dabbled in New York City life before the mountains called her back to Montana in 2015. She has over a decade of experience in the events industry, working across event logistics, admin, operations, HR, and fundraising. She’s contributed to a wide range of nonprofits and mission-driven businesses, earning a reputation as a dependable “figure-it-out” person. Amy currently works full-time at Climate Ride, a nonprofit that uses outdoor adventure to raise awareness and funding for climate action, conservation, and active transportation. She lives in Hamilton with her husband, daughter, two dogs, and an ever-growing list of homestead projects. As a devoted fan of stories in all forms, Amy is excited to bring her resourceful spirit to a community cinema that connects people and energizes an already special town.

Brian Herbel
Brian hails from Wyoming and has lived in Western Montana for 25 years eight of those in Victor. He helps manage a Farm called verdure pastures and is owner of Rabbitbrush Archaeological services. A career path he was put on following having seen Raiders of the lost Ark in a movie theater in 1981.
Brian is a devout cinephile and wants nothing more than for the people of Hamilton to be able to sit in a dark theater and watch a movie

Joey Krejci | Head of Tech
Joey is our unofficial tech guru. He likes to touch fish, his favorite movies are Lethal Weapon 2, Rush Hour 1 & 2 and every Fast and the Furious movie (specifically Tokyo Drift). He loves Hamilton, and is excited for the come back of The Roxy.
